Coaching Boys into Men (CBIM)

Full Programme Details

Coaching Boys into Men (CBIM) is a PEPFAR/CDC-funded violence prevention programme implemented by ZACH through the HPCTS-FCI platform, with technical assistance from World Vision. The programme operates across 8 districts of Zimbabwe, engaging male coaches — including teachers, community leaders, and healthcare workers — to mentor adolescent boys on respectful relationships, gender equality, and violence prevention.

CBIM addresses the root causes of gender-based violence by working with the next generation of men before harmful attitudes and behaviours become entrenched. Coaches facilitate structured conversations with boys aged 13–17 using a evidence-based curriculum that challenges gender norms, promotes accountability, and builds the skills needed for healthy, respectful relationships. The programme has reached thousands of boys across its target districts, contributing to ZACH's broader commitment to ending gender-based violence and supporting the holistic health of communities served by its member network.
